Is this a subscription? Will Direct Edit stop working after a year?

No. The English offers are lifetime licenses. You pay once, keep using Direct Edit on the licensed websites, and the website itself stays fully functional.

What happens if I uninstall Direct Edit? Will the changes stay?

Yes. Once you save a change, it is immediately applied to the live website. If you uninstall Direct Edit, the website stays in the state of the last saved change.

Is Direct Edit secure? Who has access to my files?

Files are not sent to remote servers; everything runs locally on your hosting. Direct Edit is protected on multiple levels so nobody can use it to edit your pages without authorization.

What exactly does “1 website” mean? Does a subdomain count?

One website means one domain or one subdomain. A subdomain counts as a separate activation. Development addresses such as localhost, 127.0.0.1, and domains ending in .local, .test, .invalid, or .localhost are exempt.

Does Direct Edit work with AI-built websites?

It depends on the website hosting. If you upload it as HTML files directly to hosting with PHP, Direct Edit works whether the site was built manually or with a tool such as Claude or ChatGPT. It will not work on services without PHP, such as Netlify or GitHub Pages.
